Meet the Author, Tina!
Our journey began with a golden retriever named Nellie, who over seventeen years taught us that friendship is found in the most unexpected places. Through our adventures - Nellie explored her world, celebrating differences and the beauty of being exactly as we are. Her memory inspired Tina to create stories that inspire curiosity and empathy in every young reader.

The Tails of Nellie was written with the spirit of adventure, friendship and global community in mind. This story is intended for children, families, as well as educators, and can be enjoyed both in the home and classroom. Tina was very much inspired to write this book by her two daughters - who grew up alongside our beloved Nellie and shared countless years of love.

More about Nellie's Adventures!

Nellie was born in January of 1998 in San Diego, California! A golden retriever in the truest sense - she was a loving, lively, and good-natured dog who never met a person or pup she didn't aim to befriend. Nellie grew up alongside her two human sisters, Nichole and Jordan - who deeply adored her, inspiring our author Tina's work. Nellie was a fan of the park, beach, and generally being outside, playing with her Kong, and loved a good walk around the block. Sweet Nellie lived to be 17.5 years old and passed on in 2015, but her memory endures today - as her family works to spread the joy she brought to us with this story. Ultimately, Nellie's legacy is one of friendship, joy and, acceptance. We hope you enjoy her tail!
